poem: cockleshells – 09/01/21

inhale, exhale, that’s the price we pay for life,
the sadness and the ecstasy and the purity of strife
in which we live and breathe and write and see

the beauty, the wonder, deep within me,
I can finally acknowledge that what is within is Truth, is Wisdom,
is blessing from the spiritual proof.

The dove has arisen and landed deep within my chest

I was a burning effigy and now I am blessed,
the holy spirit flows through me and can you not feel the sunshine air I breathe

The citrine upon my soul

The angelite carries all,
and then and then and thennnnnnnn
One breath, energy spent.

Always light and love, unpacking universal truths of human beingness in your poems, dearest Lauren. This is beautiful. πŸ’–
