    prosody: sunshine – 22/02/22

During these times we need sunshine, love, affirmations and more, for the sun to shine through the dreary clouds. To bring forth the brightness within thee, to allow the circumstances to slowly ease. There is in a knowing in what comes forth, what will come next, dare I breathe, exhale, set a task? There is something glorious in again coming to know myself, because, when we take on our souls’ travesties and refill it with love, we can rejuvenate the world. Matter not the errors of the past, or the irreverent goals which we surely achieved at a half mast. Matter not do these conformities, these desires, the way I unwound myself with ease. Delicately, I broke myself over and over again, as a means, as means, to achieve my end. And then together I tried to make myself be. I grabbed the pieces, the shards of me. The broken mirror, the tainted glass. The errors of this world are half-cast shades of pink and blue, perhaps purple and green, or orange and white, tiger tales to be seen, sheer delight. And what say you to remain on guard, forever analysing this precious, beautiful world? I know not of these things, not anymore, for I am beginning to relax, become less anxiety driven, and becoming myself at long last Trust, it’s potent potion, is beginning as a spell to be cast.

Poem: Beauty of the Sun – 26/11/20

    We can never truly gaze
into the beauty of the sun,
    we can only bask,
feel the delight of her warmth,
    I can feel her reverberation,
    her heart song.

Why, a little bird once told me
    that the measure of youth
    is to capture those memories,
    sift through them,
and seal them tight with Truth.

I used to gaze into the beauty of the sun,
    I felt myself burning within,
there’s so much to fight for,
but all I’ll do is relax, rest my chin on my hand
    and grin.

  • Poem: The Sun is Pleased – 29/11/19

Poem: The Sun is Pleased – 29/11/19

The sun beams down upon me:
he is happy with me today.
    Sometimes he is disappointed,
other times he may be sorely dismayed.

But I can tell from his
    loving warmth which spreads
    upon my complexion
that today he is pleased with me,
and the steps I am undertaking in my life
    to cause positive action.

I am able to draw upon experiences which,
    though once painful and caused
    such internal suffering,
can now be turned into something positive,
    as though to say,

    “Look where I came from,
    and where I have been,”

then the comparison of what is fruitful and kind,
    and what I have become,
    why, I’ve become myself again:
    from previous terrors there is
no need to run and hide.

    The illness, the illnesses,
    the secondary causes,
    the uncontrollable sense of living,
it was in no way assured.

I lived flighty, in soaring delusional heights,
    I didn’t know what I was doing,
only wished for worlds to explore
and as I crashed and burned many a-time,
faux pas and mental instability a-plenty,
    I wonder now,
how it is that I am still here,
    alive,
    writing line upon line.

But I have healed from the brokenness,
    the fragility,
    the shattered scenes,
    and here I am,
    living freely and openly breathing.

    I am here,
and I will take each opportunity as wholly mine,
    there is no need,
    no reasoning,
    to falter again,
    or trip down the line.

The sun twinkles in the corner of my eye,
I think I see him wink.
I now know for certain that he is inextricably pleased.
